Act One

The Birth of Darkness

[The scene is in the hospital. Nurses and many other medical crew members walk down the hallway. In a room the size of a classroom, there are many infants in cribs. Malisa walks towards the window that lets people see into the room. She is then joined by a man, being her husband, Darel. They both look for their little one, in hopes of being able to take him home.]

Darel: Where is he?

Malisa: I would like to know that. I want to bring him home, finally get fully set in.

Darel: We are set in, there is nothing more to do. I do believe he is that one over there since the name is Jack, the only one named Jack.

Malisa: I’m not so sure, that is a restless one, just squirming all over.

[A doctor walks in the scene.]

Doctor: Can I help you?

Malisa: Oh, why yes. We came here to bring our baby home.

Doctor: Of course. I will get someone to help you with this because I’m not able to do this stuff.

Malisa: Do you think you can at least show us where our baby is, his name is Jack.

Doctor: Well, [points towards an infant in a crib] since that one is the only Jack, I would say that’s yours.

[The doctor walks off and then the parents wait. Minutes pass until finally, they are able to take him home. They are now in their car, driving off to their home.]

Darel: [To Jack] Are you ready to come home?

[Jack makes a small baby sound.]

Malisa: Aww, he is just so adorable!

Darel: He’s our little boy. Hopefully, he’ll be a football player like I wanted to.

[Jack rustles all over, trying to escape his seat]

Malisa: [To Jack] Hey you, stop it!

[Jack bites at his seatbelt, then stops and starts crying.]

Darel: This will be a long ride home.

Malisa: He probably just wants his bottle [giving Jack a bottle of milk]

[With a miracle happening, Jack suddenly falls asleep, as if under a spell. Both parents are astonished at what happened with the quickness.]

Darel: What a relief, I thought he would never stop. But how that fast?

Malisa: Let us enjoy this while we can. You do know he will cry even more.

Darel: Yes I know that, darling.

Malisa: We need to be prepared for this life, we wanted this. I want him to have the best life he can, not end up like some brat. [Turns to Jack] He will be the nicest boy, doing chores, and other things. He will be just like his father.

[The scene ends with the screen going black and only being able to hear is the sound of a stopping car.]

The First Sign

[The camera pans down to a normal house, a replica of the other houses on the same street. It is the color of a light blue, with shutters being white. The camera enters through the window of the kitchen, which then ends in the face of Malisa.]

Malisa: These stains just won’t get out. These stupid (Scrubs faster).

[View goes to the dining room. Jack is silent for some time, then busts out in tears, crying]

Darel: [To Jack] What is wrong with you little guy? [To Malisa] Do you have his bottle?

Malisa: No, you?

Darel: Why would I be asking you if you had the bottle if I did have it?

Malisa: Don’t talk back to me like that; just go find the bottle.

[Darel runs off screen, in search of the bottle, Dr. Brown’s Bottle. Jack turns his head towards where Darel ran off, body still in place, resembling an owl. Crying continues while Jack spins his head back, only to see his mouth closed, not muffling the crying. His eyes are a deep black, such as tar. Malisa walks into the dining room, resulting in Jack looking normal once more.]

Malisa: How’s my little boy? You are going to get the best meal. It will satisfy your little tummy.

[Darel walks back on screen with a baby bottle]

Darel: Don’t you baby him.

Malisa: He is a baby.

Darel: He’s my little man.

Malisa: So where did you find the bottle?

Darel: In the living room, on the couch, wedged in between the cushions.

Malisa: Very descriptive.

[Darel goes off screen to fill the bottle. Jack cannot restrain it any more; the crying stops. All is silent]

Demon Baby: Mother.

Malisa: Hello?

Darel: [Stepping back in view, with a filled bottle] Hello! I’m back with the bottle, and he stopped. [Pause] Is there anything wrong?

Malisa: No…

[There is a knock on the door]

Darel: I’ll get it.

[The view changes to the outside, having the neighbors Dan, Tiffany, and Gerald. They wait patiently. The view goes back to the inside, by the door. The door is opened by Darel.]

Darel: Hey guys!

Neighbors: Hello!

Darel: What are you guys doing here?

Dan: We heard about the baby and figured we could give you some things for the baby.

[The neighbors then pull various baby-related objects from behind them.]

Tiffany: We got what we found to be something useful.

Darel: Well come on in!

[The view is now in the family room. There is a light blue couch, with the addition of a chair. They all walk in the room, including the now informed Malisa with Jack.]

Malisa: We don’t really need all this.

Gerald: Oh come on, I had to walk with my parents in every store just to get these!

Tiffany: Don’t you say that! Be more respectful.

Darel: He’s fine, I wouldn’t like that either.

Dan: [Changing subject] We got a stroller, diapers, etc. All the basics.

Malisa: Can we get you guys anything?

Neighbors: No.

Malisa: Really?

Tiffany: Actually, I would like a water, please.

Malisa: Of course.

[Malisa walks off for some time, then comes back with a water bottle in her hand. She gives Tiffany the water bottle]

Tiffany: Thank you.

Malisa: No problem.

Gerald: Can we just go now, it’s already boring.

Dan: Will you not?

Gerald: Well can I at least see the baby?

Darel: Sure thing kiddo!

[Darel goes to get Jack, who has fallen asleep in his chair]

Darel: Here he is. His name is Jack.

Gerald: Can I hold him?

Darel: No, I don’t want him being hurt.

Gerald: [To Tiffany] Look at his tiny hands!

Tiffany: You had hands like that too.

Dan: I guess we should get going already, I need to get some things done.

Malisa: That’s fine. We do appreciate the gifts.

Darel: Yes, thank you.

[The neighbors then wave goodbye out the door.]

Malisa: We need to get this guy to bed. I don’t want to be woke up any earlier.

Darel: Yea, lets get him up there.

[Darel and Malisa pick up Jack, taking him to his room. The time is around 7:00. He is laid in his bed and the lights are shut off. He lays on his side, falling asleep. We hear a dark voice snicker. Bright red eyes are seen through Jack’s window. He is here. The screen once again goes dark, ending the scene]

Act Two

Release the Monstrosity

[It is about two days later. We are still at the residence of Malisa and Darel. It is the middle of the night, having a view in Jack’s room. Jack is seen sleeping. His eyes are closed. With the bolt of lightning from the thunderstorm outside, his eyes fly open. His eyes are not normal, but fully white, such as milk. He rises from his crib, crawling on the floor towards the window. He rises, his face only inches down from the window. He sees a creature fly towards him. It’s the demon, Iyde. His face looks like a wolf head, with no fur, and halfway melted. The ribs of such a creature are visible. There are no physical limbs on the demon, but they’re phantom, as their own spirits that have molded with the demon. The abomination had a bonelike tail, with a spike on the end. The demon approaches Jack. It phases through the wall. He speaks where Jack could understand.]

Iyde: Speak.

[Jack makes a small noise.]

Iyde: I understand. You are but too young to speak. For I will grant upon you the gloriousness of communication.

[Iyde moves his ghostly hand towards Jack. His hand makes contact with Jack’s head. He can talk.]

Jack: Thank you. Why are you here, again?

Iyde: I took you over once. That ability has never been used again. The power over someone is addicting. I will need you again to tame my wants.

Jack: No.

Iyde: Why, you dare objectify me? I will then take the body of you my child!

[Iyde phases through the wall fully. He chases Jack who is cornered. He jumps into Jack. Jack is now possessed.]

Demon Baby: Good...

Jack: Get out!

Iyde: Never! Your pathetic abilities are limited by your puny body.

Jack: You are just a demon who cannot cope with his hideous looks.

[In anger, Hyde forces Jack’s body towards a mirror, then proceeds to break it.]

Jack: What are you doing?!

[The mirror breaks. Jack no longer sees himself, but is looking at a reflection of Iyde.]

Hyde: Silencing you.

[The breaking of the mirror gave Iyde anger from the cuts. He used the anger to increase his power, taking full control of Jack’s body. Jack is only but a voice; only a part of Demon Baby.]

Demon Baby: Yes… Once again human. The body is not the best picked, but the easiest to trick people with. For I will cause havoc and mayhem on this planet! I must come up with a strategy for this.

[Malisa has been awoke from the mirror smashing. She rushes in the room to see Jack, a week old infant, standing on two feet.]

Malisa: [panicked] Darel!

Demon Baby: Mother…

Malisa: [Louder] Darel!

[Darel is head running to the door. He stops behind Malisa, who is now crying. He notices their once loved Jack, is now a beast. He has eyes deep white, his arms are twice the size, and his legs are a bit smaller, but still stable. The once named Jack is now Demon Baby. Both parents see Demon Baby’s deranged smile, his now grown--but sharp--teeth. In a sudden, Demon Baby’s face is opened vertically, such as a larger mouth. Demon Baby then grows a snout out of the vertical split.]

Darel: Where is Jack!

[Malisa tries to answer, but is stopped by her sobbing]

Demon Baby: He is no more…

[In a sudden, Demon Baby jumps through the window, running down the street.]

Darel: I’m calling the police.

[Darel goes back to his bedroom to get his phone. Malisa follows. We then are spectating Demon Baby. He has stopped by a building, a police station.]

Cop 1: Come on, we were called in for a dangerous child.

Cop 2: Isn’t that a bit suspicious?

Cop 1: let’s just do our jobs.

[Demon Baby comes from behind a police car.]

Cop 2: [Pulling taser out] What is that!?

Cop 1: Is that a dog? Why is it like that?

Cop 2: I don’t know.

Demon Baby: Hello, officers.

[At this point Cop 2 has his taser pointed at Demon Baby, while Cop 1 has his taser out also.]

Cop 2: It’s talking!

[Demon Baby lunges forward in an attempt to tackle the officers. Both cops dodge the attack.]

Cop 1: That’s no human! [Talking through radio] We have a 10-33!

[In an attempt to suppress Demon Baby, Cop 1 shot the taser gun at the freak. It hit. Demon Baby keels over in pain. He looks up at the officer.]

Demon Baby: Big mistake…

Cop 2: What?

[In a flash, Demon Baby gets up and snatches the taser from Cop 1. He smashes it to pieces.]

Cop 1: [To radio] We have a 10-32! I repeat; a 10-32!

[Many officer exit the police station, geared up for the attacker.]

Cop 1: Stand down!

[Demon Baby shoots out his binkie and it lands in Cop 1’s eye. Cop 1 falls down in pain.]

Cop 1: My eye!

Random Cop: Open fire!

Cop 2: Man down!

[Bullets fly around Demon Baby, some hitting him. Demon Baby extends his arm, and with great strength, he picks up a car and uses it to block the bullets. Demon Baby escapes.]

Cop 2: He’s a runner. [In radio] We need a 10-52.

[The view goes back to Malisa and Darel. They are on the couch, the time being around dawn.]

Malisa: That wasn’t him…

Darel: But it was at the same time.

Malisa: It wasn’t my little boy. I can’t lose another child.

[By this time they are watching the news report over Demon Baby’s attack.]

Darel: Malisa, you need to be strong. Sure it wasn’t him, but maybe something that took him over.

Malisa: There is nothing to take him over, Darel. This not some magic world; this can’t be real. It’s a dream.

Darel: You saw him. Our baby was twisted into a monster. We have to get that demon out.

Malisa: How would you know if it’s a demon?

Darel: I’ve been through a similar situation.

Malisa: [Tearing up again] But our boy. He’s gone. I just can’t have a child.

[The view goes out through the window. We continue to hear the sobbing of Malisa, who is comforted by Darel. The view goes to Cop 2 watching as Cop 1 gets wheeled away by the ambulance. The view then stops to the running of Demon Baby. He is running with a glow in his eyes. He has a twisted smile, knowing what he is going to do. The scene ends with Jack.]

Jack: I will not allow this.

Down with the Demon

[It is about three days later. Even with a short time, Havoc has spread across the town with other demons roaming in the streets. Demon Baby’s plan is almost complete, only needing to silence his creators. Malisa and Darel have blocked any entrance to their house. The view is now on Demon Baby. He is in the backyard of Malisa’s house. He is crawling through the roof, finding a way in. Jack then appears before Demon Baby.]

Jack: Don’t.

Demon Baby: What you poor soul?

Jack: I will not allow this to happen to my family. They have done all they could to keep me, until you came.

Demon Baby: You are only a nuisance to my plan.

[Jack disappears]

Demon Baby: Now to continue.

[He drops down from the roof. He spots an unprotected window. He takes his hand and punches through the window. He climbs through the window.]

Malisa: Someone is in!

Darel: It’s got to be him.

Malisa: Get the weapon.

[Darel grabs the weapon and walks towards the sound. On the other side, Demon Baby has crawled through the window. Darel spots him and hides.]

Demon Baby: I see you…

[In an instance, Darel is grabbed by Demon Baby, and thrown out the window. The weapon is left behind. Malisa hear the scream of Darel.]

Malisa: No, no, no, no… This can’t be happening.

[Jack appears in front of Malisa.]

Jack: You need to stop Iyde.

Malisa: Who is th- Jack? [She starts to feel safe] Are you talking? Are you safe?

Jack: I’m not dangerous, but only a spirit. But you are not safe from Iyde, a demon who took over my body. You must get the weapon that Darel knew would work. Holy water.

Malisa: Of course, what do I do with it?

Jack: Splash it on Demon Baby, he shall melt such as a witch. I must go now, good luck.

[He disappears. Malisa gets up to search for the holy water. Demon Baby is now under the couch, hiding for Malisa. Malisa has found the holy water in the kitchen. She runs back to her bedroom, in hopes of a longer survival. Demon Baby follows. She shuts the door.]

Demon Baby: let me in…

Malisa: Never!

Demon Baby: [mimicking Darel’s voice] Let us in, he’s fine.

Malisa: Darel?

Demon Baby: Yes…

Malisa: That’s not you! You’re not getting in you beast.

Demon Baby: [Ripping the door open] I’ll get in myself!

[Malisa attempts to keep the door in place by leaning on it. Demon Baby has gotten through, pushing Malisa forwards.]

Demon Baby: I’m here! I’ve got to have you silenced like the others for my world domination. I’ve been kept prisoner for so long, finally set free by an unwise soul.

[Before Demon Baby could go on with his backstory, he is splashed with holy water.]

Demon Baby: You jerk! I was going to sound cool until you did this. You could have waited!

[Demon Baby melts away as if never a threat. Malisa goes to the backyard with some leftover holy water. She finds the real Dare with water guns.]

Malisa: What happened to you?

Darel: Thrown out a window. I heard some screams from inside, did you get the demon?

Malisa: Sure did.

Darel: Besides that, I found empty water guns we could fill with holy water, and save the town. Want to do that?

[The now more confident Malisa picks up the other water gun and fills it with the rest of the holy water. She smiles.]

Malisa: Of course.

[To be continued.]
